		<description>Hi Dan,
I came across your site when I was looking for some Pastor Appreciation stuff. I ended up sending the link to your CaseStudies site to him. I like how you write and what you write about.
I just stopped for a second and saw that my nephew was available on Skype and talked to him at his university. He has just gotten a webcam so I could see him too. His parents are Papua New Guinea and have just started using Skype. Skype is not much worse than actually calling PNG and they have been calling out from it as well for about 3 cents/minute to my mom, which has been cool. How things have changed for missionaries with the Internet. This blog entry was on technology and that is why I am rambling.
This fall I too got a new laptop, a Compac Presario V3000. It has the dual AMD processor and was a nice step up from the pIII laptop I was using, but that was better than the pII I just retired too. I am a science teacher and I have been making more use of this laptop as it has the capabilities to do some multimedia stuff with my students.
Anyways I wanted to comment on your entry for two reasons, no one else had, I wanted to tell you I liked what I read and I liked your line &quot; If you’re not a techie, just smile and say “that’s nice” and move on.&quot; (Yeah I know I said two reasons, but if you are familiar with Monty Python, then you know that nobody expects the &quot;Spanish Inquisition&quot;) While I have been using computers since grade 8 (using a card reader no less, I am getting old), taught computers for 7 years, and use a computer most every day, my wife almost takes delight in not using computers, generally getting our 13 year old to do something for her if she needs it. She would have a hard time appreciating your blog entry, but I did.
I also included our website that we advertised our home on to rent it out in the summers. I really like where we live, but in the same idea as your idolatry prayer, I too came to the point of realizing that I never wanted to like it too much, I never wanted to become too attached to this place because I always want to remember that I am stumbling Heavenward, that is the true place of belonging.
Thanks for your sites Dan, I have enjoyed the time I have spent here.
Have you ever been to Canada? I am going to see if I can send your site on to a camp here in BC. They have family camps each year and bring speakers in, I don&#039;t know if from Arkansas, but you never know. Our family has been the last two summers, but our connection to the camp goes back to when I was 10, I ended up working there a couple summers during University, and one summer with my wife. Anyways, it is called Camp Homewood (www.homewood.bc.ca) if you want to see what it looks like.
Thanks for your time and thanks for your love of God.
